Description
1960 DKW-750 – Black and white 10″ x 14″ ad that has a picture racing a baseball player around the infield. The headline claims that “The remarkable DKW-750 beats Gil McDougald of the New York Yankees around the bases”. The first line under the headline asks “How did it do it?”. The facts are that the car traveled the bases in 12.0 seconds and Mr. McDougald did it in 13.8 seconds. The next question was “Why does front wheel drive make the DKW such a ‘good baserunner'”. The front wheel drive enabled the car to be pulled rather than pushed around the bases. “What about acceleration and three cylinders?” They claim that three cylinders can co the work of a six cylinder engine. “Some other interesting facts”. The brakes have not been placed ON the wheels but on the axle either side of the transmission. The price for this amazing automobile is only $1665.
