Description

Woodbury Ad 1951Full color 7 3/4″ x 11″ ad for their Sunny Dream Make-Up Shade. There is a picture of an attractive lady looking seductively at the reader while adjusting her sun bonnet as a man standing behind her directs all of his attention to her. The ad claims that “you’ll make his heart stand still” and calls it a “new golden-skin shade with a peach bloom”. It compares it to “the most flirtatious, feminine hat you ever wore” and if you “pat it on with its puff and in a twinkling it honeys your skin with a delicate sunlit-look”. It promises that it “is not drying or greasy” and there will be “no powdery mask to mar the glow”. It was available in 5 dreamy shades for only 49 cents.
