Description

Wonder Ad 1966Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Wonder Bread and their Hostess Fruit Pies. The top half of the ad is dedicated to the Wonder Bread, having a top headline that says that you should “Make the most of their “Wonder Years”. There is a picture there that shows six different children having a race jumping in these bags. “Serve Wonder Bread – Wonder helps build strong bodies 12 ways” is what the headline says. “During the “Wonder Years” – one through twelve – your children develop in many ways – actually grow to their adult height. To help make the most of their “Wonder Years”, serve them nutritious “Wonder Bread”. Every delicious slice supplies protein for muscle, minerals for strong bones, carbohydrates for energy, vitamins for nerves – all vital elements for growing minds and bodies. To a child these wonderous early years seem endless. But for a parent they slip by like a warm spring day. So make the most out of their “Wonder Years”. Serve Wonder Bread for enjoyment, for enrichment”. The second part of the ad says “And serve Hostess Fruit Pies – made with more fruit filling than crust”. There are a picture of a Hostess Fruit Pie with a bite out of it, another of two kids eating away and a third of a full display of them in the store.
