1903 Winton Touring Car – Black and white 4 1/2″ x 6″ ad for the complete safety that is built into these vehicles. There is a picture of a Touring Car filled with five occupants with a woman driving that is approaching a railroad crossing at the same time as a huge locomotive. The ad headline assures you that “There is No Danger of being unable to stop suddenly in any emergency if yours is a Winton“. The text explains that all the driver had to do was “with a single forward stroke of the right arm…disconnect the power from the transmission and apply a wheel-locking emergency brake”. The engine is claimed to be 20 hp this year and the price was $2500 and, as far as getting your car serviced, the claim is made that “We have branches and agencies in twoscore cities throughout the country”.
