Description

Whitman's Candy Ad December 1946Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad that reminds you to give someone special a Sampler for Christmas. The romantic picture shows a Christmas tree decorated with white garland and large balls flanked by a man who is presenting his lady a box of Whitman’s Sampler that is tied with a red ribbon and has a Merry Christmas label on it. The headline claims that “It wouldn’t be Christmas without – Whitman’s and the text recites several scenarios where the man is absent and the woman is fine with that because she has a half-empty box of assorted chocolates to keep her company. The bottom of the ad has the hopeful reminder that “A woman never forgets the man who Remembers”.
