Description

Virginia Slims Cigarettes Ad 1977Full color 7 3/4″ x 10 1/2″ ad that says that “You’ve come a long way, baby”. At the top of the page is an older photo that shows a formal evening dance and everyone seems to be looking in the middle at a strange appearance. To quote the text under the picture, “In order that she might sneak a cigarette, Mrs. Patrick Fitzgerald attended the Summer Ball dressed as a Pittsburgh steel mill chimney. Unfortunately for Mrs. Fitzgerald, it was not a costume affair”. They do have a modern gal in this ad though. She is wearing a red pants suit and comes walking toward us with a cigarette in her left hand. She has a knowing look on her face and the pants suit has a long low look to it.
