Vaseline Ad 1967 MayFull color 9 3/4″ x 13″ ad with a story from Vaseline Hair Tonic. At the top of the ad we have the camera honing in on a woman’s eyes next to the caption which asks “What kind of man uses Vaseline Hair Tonic?”. Just below this picture there is a rounded table, men dressed up and playing cards. The ad says that “He’s got three 3’s looking at three kings. Does his opponent have four kings…or kings full?”. The next row down we see a close-up of the table and the man with the Threes is moving in a stack of chips and the caption says that “By betting he says, ‘I have four 3’s'”. Next it has the full face view of the eyes previously, the lady asking “Is he bluffing?”. Then it shows the man who had the three Kings, a worried look on his face, and he is thinking “Does he really have them?”. In the last row of pictures it has a view of the table and the man with the Kings is sitting there, and he says to himself, “Can’t chance it. Fold”. In the next view it shows the hand of the man who had the three ‘3s, and it shows that he had the fourth King, as the ad caption claims “He held the 4th King, so the bluff was a good bet”. At the bottom of the ad it claims that “The man who knows how to take care of himself uses Vaseline Hair Tonic.
