Description

Smirnoff Vodka Ad 1963Full color 9 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ ad for the Vodka that is considered to be the driest of liquors. The ad has a picture of a slightly out-of-focus Leaning Tower of Pisa with, in the foreground, a martini glass properly focused and the level of liquid in it indicating that it is level and the tower in not. The headline starts by saying “If you lean toward the very dry” and then talks about how you can make your martinis with Smirnoff Vodka instead of gin, if you like them dry. It tells you to “be certain of Smirnoff at the store – and firm about it at the bar”.
