Pepsi Ad August 1959Full color 9″ x 13 1/2″ ad with a drawing of an upper-class swimming pool where there are many adults there enjoying the sunshine and swimming in the water. Many are in the background while there are two, a man and a woman, in the front. The man is sitting in a chair, shorts and a tank top, while the woman is standing while wearing a dress. The woman is offering the man something that she is carrying from a white jar and he is accepting it as he has a freshly cooked hamburger on his lap. He has a Pepsi-Cola in the floor in front of him, there is another one, partially drunk, on the table and the woman has several in her purse. The ad headline calls them “The Sociables” and says that “They enjoy being with others and they serve today’s Pepsi-Cola. It refreshes without filling – suits modern tastes so pleasantly on any occasion. Wouldn’t you like to join The Sociables and enjoy Pepsi-Cola now”.
