Oldsmobile Jetstar 88 – Full color 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad with a drawing of a Blue Two-Door stopped on a field where men in parachutes are landing all around. The ad headline hints at the low purchase price of this sporty car by saying “Guess what it would cost to own Oldsmobile’s newest Rocket…then count down!”. It then says that “Appearances are deceiving where Oldsmobile’s new Jetstar 88 is concerned. Certainly you’d never guess its lower price by those sleek, come-hither lines. Nor by its zesty new 330-cubic-inch Jetstar Rocket V-8 Engine and variable-vane Jetaway Drive. Nor, for that matter, by its road-leveling 123-inch wheelbase and masterful four-coil-spring suspension. Yet the fact is, Jetstar 88 prices actually start below those of 30 models with low-price names. Worth looking into? You bet it is”.
