Description

Nitey Nite Children’s Clothing Ad 1953Full color 9 1/2″ x 12″ ad for their sleepers. The ad has a picture of three children getting ready for bed. The youngest boy is wearing a pink one-piece sleeper with feet and is standing on top of an ironing board that is collapsed on the floor. He holds a toy airplane in his hand and is looking back at the camera with a guilty expression on his face. His older sister is standing next to him wearing a yellow sleeper with feet and with red cuffs and a red collar. She has a telescope to her eye and is looking at her older brother while wearing a hat that is a yellow and red rocket ship. The older brother, while wearing a green two-piece sleeper, is standing on a table and pointing a ray gun toward some invisible monster while trying to balance a hat on his head that looks like the man-in-the-moon. The ad headline says “soft…fleecy…Nitey Nite sleepers costume your space-scouts for dreams” and the ad text describes in greater detail some of the quality features these products were famous for. Being a child myself at this time I cannot remember asking my parents for “some of those pajamas with the crazy hats that will prevent me from sleeping right”. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.
