Magnavox Ad 1953Three color 10″ x 14″ ad for the Magnavox Chromatic Television. At the top of this ad is a section for “Those Who Know Pictures Best Choose Magnavox TV and the caption says that “Hal Wallis, famous motion picture producer – a Magnavox TV owner – says, ‘The warm color-tone of the Chromatic Filter in my Magnavox provides the finest TV picture I have ever seen'”. The picture here shows Shirley Booth and Burt Lancaster looking at a picture from Come Back, Little Sheba. The big text in this ad states that Magnavox chromatic television brings you thrilling realism” and, then, the smaller print says that “The Magnavox Chromatic Filter, an innovation in television, provides a warm, color-tone which brings you beautiful pictures and a striking illusion of dimension. Contrasted with the cold harshness of conventional television, this achievement adds immeasurably to your TV enjoyment. In addition, the sense of realism given by Magnavox high-fidelity sound creates a feeling of intimacy with the performers that you never before have enjoyed in television.
