Description

Kool Cigarette Ad 1938Black and white 4 3/4″ x 13″ ad for their Mild Menthol Cigarettes. The ad features the ever-present Penguin lying on the bank of a gently-moving stream, Kool clamped in his beak, holding his fishing pole and waiting for the bobber to move. The headline assures us that Kools are quite a catch” and reminds us that “Summer’s coming!” so this is the time to swear off those hot cigarettes and switch to Kool. The text talks about the “hearty Turkish-Domestic blend” as well as the valuable coupons on each pack. Pictured in the ad are several of the ‘premiums’ that could be yours with enough coupons as well as an opened pack of Kool with a price of 15 cents.
