Description

John Deere Ad 1954Full color 7 3/4″ x 10 3/4″ ad for the fact that their Farm Tractors now come with Power Steering. The ad has one photo of a man driving his new John Deere and making short work of his unplowed fields and another drawing of a kitten standing in the driver’s seat and turning the steering wheel with little problem. The headline claims that this Power Steering “Makes Driving a Soft Touch” and claims that it was offered in the Model “50”, the Model “60” and the Model “70”. The text describes how “easily the tractor handles” even when using heavy, front-mounted tools. It suggests that “your wife, son, daughter or an older member of the family can handle the tractor just as easily, just as surely as you, yourself”. The text also describes the mechanical aspects of this unit.
