Description
Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Havoline Motor Oil from Texaco Dealers. This ad has a drawing of a pilot who has ejected himself from a disabled airplane and his seat is floating away as his parachute is slowing him down. The ad, about the pilot, says “Pilot Ejector…new U.S. Navy safety mechanism thinks for itself, helps pilots escape from damaged aircraft. An automatically-controlled device blows off canopy, ejects seat eighty feet in air, throws pilot free, pulls rip cord. Thus, even under the most severe conditions, pilots are assured of greater protection. And, even under the most severe conditions, your engine is assured of greater protection with Havoline Special 10W-30. It’s the motor oil that’s light for cold starts, yet has body to protect against engine heat”. The headline in the center of the page claims that it “Thinks For Itself” and that it is a “Brilliant oil discovery…new Texaco petrochemical product thinks for itself. First, Havoline Special 10W-30 Motor Oil delivers flash lubrication for fast cold-engine starts, then provides wear-saving protection when your engine heats up. Thus it gives you full-time engine power”. This ad continues on with more information.
