Gaines Dog Food Ad 1965 JulyFull color 9 3/4″ x 13 1/4″ ad that is advertising the Gaines-Burgers 6 Burgers packs that they were selling at that time. The photo in the picture shows the dog sitting very obediently while being leashed to the larger of two suitcases while the smaller suitcase has an unopened package of these Gaines-burgers attached to the front of it. The ad headline calls them Gaines-burgers – the one for the road”. There are three pictures under this big one, each complete with descriptions. The first one shows a lady breaking one of the burgers up and the text starts by saying “Why leave your best friend at home when Gaines-burgers make it so easy to take him along?”. The second picture shows that two of the burgers equals a one pound can of dog food. The third picture shows the dog lying on the ground eating away at the meal as the ad says that it is “Completely satisfying to your dog”.
