Dodge Dart Ad October 1962Dodge Dart 2-Door – Full color 9 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ ad with a pair of drawings of a family of four trying to load everything they will need for a vacation into their compact Dodge Dart. We see them with a pair of suitcases and a pair of water skies while the Father stands at the rear with one of the young daughters in the trunk trying to steer the bird cage to be safely stored. The second drawing shows them driving away with everything packed and the ad headline claims that “You’ll hardly be able to contain yourselves – But the 1963 Dart will.” It then says “Introducing compact ’63 Dodge Dart. At last. A compact that doesn’t give anyone the sardine treatment. The 1963 Dodge Dart! Now everybody gets a fair shake on room. Note the roof line. It goes straight back. Result: even rear-seat hat wearers are treated with deference. And so are those who like some action for a change. Dart’s standard engine leaves the run-of-the-mill compacts waiting and wheezing. It’s optional engine (just a few bucks more) is the same way, only more so”.
