Description

Derby Ad October 1951Full color 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad for their Peter Pan Peanut Butter. The ad has a picture of a young boy (identified in the ad as William P Hobson of Kansas City, Mo but he looks like a young Peter Lorre) holding a piece of peanut butter spread bread that has a good-size bite out of it. There is a copy of a positive letter written by this young boy telling the company why this is his favorite brand of peanut butter. The ad headline warns manufacturers that “You can’t fool kids about Peanut Butter!”. The ad encourages everyone to listen to and watch Sky King. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.
