Description

Budweiser Ad 1940Full color 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad for Budweiser Beer in Bottles and Cans. This ad features a scene where five jovial and very well-dressed gentlemen are sitting behind a large table, each with a very tall glass of Budweiser, and the headline claims that “This Friend Needs No Introduction”. The text claims that “Of course, Budweiser is only incidental to your scheme for good living. But, since good living is a series of pleasant incidents, Budweiser becomes important…for its generous contribution of companionship when you are alone…fellowship when you are among friends…and contentment when the day’s work is done”. To the right of this text, it has a slogan that claims that you should “Live Life…Every Golden minute of it. Enjoy Budweiser…Every golden drop of it”. At the bottom of this ad, there is a little quiz that says “Make This Test. Drink Budweiser for five days. On the sixth day try to drink a sweet beer. You may want Budweiser’s flavor thereafter”.
