Description

Marathon Ad 1960Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is meant to indicate that you will get better mileage when you fill your car up with Marathon but, in this day and age, they might rethink the image. The picture, taking up the majority of the page, shows a single man on a camel slowly making their way across a vast desert. The only tracks on the desert seem to be theirs and they are just reaching the top of a sand dune and the headline claims that Marathon goes farther to make friends”. The image is meant to convey the importance of “getting your money’s worth” because the only other written message in the ad is that Marathon Super-M Gasoline takes you even farther on a fill”.
