RCA Victor Ad 1965 MayBlack and white 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is for the 1965 RCA Victor Portables with Solid Copper Circuit dependability. This ad is presented in a way that is very unique. It shows a man and a woman, both riding little motorcycles, each with an RCA Victor Portable attached to the back of their motorcycles. The lady, who is riding away from the camera, has her TV set attached perpendicular to the rider. The man is riding from left to right and his set is attached in a more suitable manner. Each rider is wearing a straw hat, the lady has just taken hers off to tip it to the crowd. The ad headline says “For the Action Crowd…New RCA Victor Portables with Solid Copper Circuit dependability”. The ad text says that “Your new “Pick of the Portables” can take it – wherever you take it – because every Sportabout TV gives you RCA Solid Copper Circuits. They’re the circuits of the Space Age. They replace old-fashioned “hand-wiring” in over 200 possible trouble spots…for greater dependability, better performance. RCA Solid Copper Circuits won’t come loose – won’t short circuit. You get the sharpest, clearest pictures possible with these sharp new RCA Victor Sportabouts. They “shift gears” electronically for greater picture-pulling power – a must for fringe area reception. And remember: more people own RCA Victor than any other television, black and white or color. Shouldn’t you?”.
