Description

Old Gold Ad 1960 FebruaryFull color 10″ x 13 1/2″ ad that lets us know that Old Gold‘s Spin Filter spins and cools the smoke to less than body temperature”. How is this possible, you ask? There is a thermometer shown that shows the average body temperature, 98.6 degrees, compared to the Average Temperature of Old Gold Spin Filter Smoke. This temperature is between 78 to 79 degrees. It then tells us that “The Spin Filter actually improves smoking taste. Every puff spins and cools the smoke to less than body temperature. You get the full, rich taste of fine tobaccos – the best taste yet in a filter cigarette”. The photo in this ad shows a hat with several dogs shown around it, a blue ribbon, a small statue of a dog standing up, an ash tray with a lit Old Gold cigarette in it and an opened pack of Old Gold cigarettes leaning against the dog.
