The ad says that “It’s a proud moment when you can offer family and friends delectable fruitcake of your very own making. Generations have enjoyed this treasured Wesson recipe. It’s a dark, moist cake – made easily because you use Wesson Oil – liquid shortening. Wesson pours to measure instantly and stirs in. There’s no digging out shortening, no creaming”. The ingredients are listed in the ad and the directions to cook it for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The final words in the ad are that “Delicate salad oil makes the finest shortening – Wesson Oil“.
