Description

Chevrolet Ad 1941 MarchChevrolet – Black and white 8 1/2″ x 11 3/4″ ad that lets you know that the Chevrolet is so modern that they have even eliminated the running boards. The ad has a picture of a smartly-dressed lady in a fur coat making a glamorous entrance into the passenger side front seat of a new Chevrolet under the headline that announces “Modern Style Note. Old-Fashioned Running Boards are Out!”. There are smaller pictures that explain other reasons for doing away with the running board. These include “No dangerous snow and ice”building up, “No dirt or mud”“No ‘jumping on’ car” for those of you who wanted to quickly transport your gang after a bank robbery, “No ‘sitting or Loitering'” for the days when you had to park your car on the streets of the bad side of town, “Safer, easier entrance and exit” and, of course, “Smarter, more modern styling”. The ad also contains a Quality Quiz which compares some of the features this car had that others of the time period didn’t. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.
