Description

Vitalis Ad 1956Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad for the “New greaseless way to keep your hair neat all day” which happened to be Vitalis Hair Tonic with V-7. There are two pictures at the top of the page and they are both of a man called Billy Pierce. In the first picture he is taking a shower and, well, the headline says that “Billy Pierce took a shower” and he is drenched with his mouth open. In the second picture he is smiling and his hair is combed very neatly and the ad headline says “then he used Vitalis. This Billy Pierce is a left-handed pitcher for the Chicago White Sox and he says “I take a shower every day – so I use Vitalis every day”. He then says that “It’s not greasy. And if the rest of me stays in as good condition as my hair and scalp, I’ll still be playing ball in 1970”.
