Description

York Cigarettes Ad December 1963Full color 9 3/4″ x 13″ ad that is for the York Imperial Size Cigarettes. In the photo it shows a pack opened up, torn open in fact, and there are only about eight cigarettes left in this pack. The pack is lying on its side next to a unique cigarette lighter that looks like a globe showing the seven continents. There is a definition above this of the word world’ly that claims that it means “Devoted to or concerned with the affairs, pleasures, etc. of this world. wise in the ways of this world. sophisticated…” The ad text questions, “Wise in the ways of this world? Then surely you’d experienced the pleasures of this debonair cigarette. If you haven’t quite got around to York yet you’ll want to. The sensible Imperial length – a specialty with York – is one of the things that makes them do decidedly different. Noticeably longer than king-size, they’re also noticeably smoother-tasting for such a rich flavored cigarette. (Maybe it’s because the smoke travels that much further.) No filter. No outlandish promises. Just a good long smoke. As you already know, or will, on first try”.
