Description
1911 Four-Passenger Brougham Electric – Black and white 5 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ ad for the Silent Waverley from the days where the public was trying to decide what would be the most popular: Gas, Electric or Steam. There is a picture of this car with the caption mentioning a price of $2800 and a headline claiming it is “Not Half the Expense of Most Gas Cars”. The text claims that will have no tire trouble and reminds you that it “never freezes up”. It also claims to have the largest interior of any four-passenger electric and talks about the Silent Waverely Limousine-Five which would allow you to seat five adults for a price of $3500. It mentions several of the engineering features built into these cars and lists the choices of batteries as being Exide, Waverely or National or you could step up, for an extra price, to an Iron Clad or an Edison Battery.
