Full color 10″ x 13″ ad for Herbert Tareyton cigarettes shows Mrs. Charles Evans Hughes, III, described as a “lovely member of New York society”, standing at a banquet table while she smokes a cigarette. This attractive lady is wearing a dark suit and hat with white gloves and holds a white fur in the hand that is not holding the Tareyton. The ad headline assures us that only “Discriminating People Prefer Herbert Tareyton“ and that “There’s Something About Them You’ll Like”. Pictured in the ad is an opened pack of this product with a drawing of a man in tux and a top hat standing next to it.
