Description

Sunbeam Air Conditioning Ad 1937Black and white 7 3/4″ x 11 3/4″ ad for their Air Conditioning. Air conditioning, which we now associate with cooled air, meant then air that was filtered and humidified as well as being circulated. There is a picture of a smiling mother watching her young daughter eat her meal and the headline reminds us “Food three times a day, Air fifteen times a minute. Conditioned Air is as Essential as Pure Food”. The text explains some of their theory behind the need for Conditioned Air and mentions that “mechanical cooling can be installed at any time”.
