Full color 9 3/4″ x 12 1/2″ ad that introduces the Sony 17-inch Trinitron Televisions. The headline on this ad says that “Sony Introduces 17′” and, beneath this, is a picture of a man lying in bed, comfortable as he is beneath his blanket with his head propped up on his pillow, and, on his stomach, sits a Sony television that he is watching as he ponders sleeping. “We’ve come a long way from Tummy TV. Today we present Sony’s big color set. The 17-inch Trinitron. A couple of years ago, we introduced the Trinitron system (a totally different way of producing a color picture). People said a lot of nice things about our 9-inch and 12-inch Trinitrons. In fact, people liked out sets so much, sometimes we couldn’t keep up with the demand”. There’s more in this ad to see.
