Description

Sony Ad 1970 MayBlack and white 7 3/4″ x 11″ ad for the Sony 7FC-89W Nag. The Nag really might be the name, they just refer to it in the ad. The ad headline claims that this is “The clock radio that wakes you like your mother did. (Every 10 minutes for as long as it takes)”. The text says that “Our snooze button isn’t a button, it’s a bar. And like your mother, it never gives up. When the alarm goes off, press it. Ten minutes later it wakes you up again. Press. Ten minutes later it wakes you up again. It keeps doing this till you sit up and turn the selector off the “Alarm” position. When you do that, you’re awake. Sony’s 7FC-89W is a nag. But it’s got some lovable features. An illuminated clock. Beautiful sound. FM and AM. In a neat little package. That takes up less than a 5 1/2″ square of space. So there’s room on your night table for someone else’s lovable features”. To further demonstrate the validity of the last sentence, pictured in this ad is a shiny Sony 7FC-89W clock radio, right next to a picture of Mother.
