Description

Singer Sewing Machine Ad February 1953Full color 10″ x 14″ ad for the Singer Sewing Machine which handles the “Straight needle…Swing needle…and now the exciting new Slant Needle Singer. What can you do with this needle, you may ask. You have easy speed control for slowest or fastest sewing, both knee and foot controls, instant starting – leaves hands free, seam-width guides on throat plate and you get drop feed for darning and embroidery. There is a drawing of a lady using one of these needles and she seems to have a little smile on her face as she handles some of the more difficult tasks. There are pictures that show some of the features of this equipment. The first picture shows that the needle slants towards you instead of being straight up and down. The second picture shows how you can use the machine as a portable and the third shows how you can use the new Spinet Cabinet which was designed especially for the slant-needle Singer.
