Description

Singer Sewing Center Ad 1945Full color 10″ x 13 1/2″ ad for the Singer Sewing Centers Everywhere. The headline to the ad has a girl saying “I’m a success – want my secret?”. The text tells the story of a young lady who kept getting passed over for promotion at work. She reasoned that it was probably because she couldn’t afford new clothes. Then one day she was window-shopping and realized that if she knew how to sew, she could get ahead. She burst into the store, it was open, and went to the Singer Sewing person to sign up for their Home Dressmaking Lessons. She now knows nearly everything about clothes and what looks best. And she just got her promotion. They say that “Now I can afford more War Bonds”even though the war had just ended. The “White touches – employer’s love ’em” and the “Belt and buttons; thanks to Singer.
