Description

Simca Ad June 19601960 Simca – Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad for this gas-saving car imported by Chrysler. The picture shows a Light-Colored SImca parked next to a gas pump where the attendant, dressed as if he was French, stands holding the gas nozzle and paying no attention to the lady in the Simca. The headline warns that “In Paris a gallon of gas costs 74 cents” which was twice what it was in the U.S.. Bring back the old days. So, in their ad, the French drivers must go twice as far to pay as little as we did and the claim is made in the ad, so many of them drive Simcas. Testing in the U.S. revealed that an average gas mileage for this car was 38.058 which figured out to be less than 1 cent per mile.
