Description

Sherwin-Williams Paint Ad 1971Full color 9 3/4″ x 13″ ad that asks you “How to make furniture look beautifully old before its time”. The answer is to use Sherwin-Williams paint because it is sold at a place that is “More than a paint store”. There are two photos, one shows an attic filled with furniture that is felt to be looking too old to fit in and the second picture shows a woman working on making the same furniture very attractive by today’s standards. It says that “You’d expect a paint store to tell you the whole world should look bright and new. But we’re telling you some things should look old and beautiful. And if one of the oldest paint companies in the world can’t appreciate the beauty of an old finish, who can”. They talk about their Sherwin-Williams Classic Antiquing and Wood Tones kits and how to use them. It is said that they have easy explanations to use and, to put it simply, “You name it. We’ve got it”.
