Description

Seagram's Whiskey Ad 1942 AugustFull color 9 3/4″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Seagram’s V.O. Canadian Whisky. The ad headline tells us that “Men Who Think of Tomorrow Appreciate The World’s Lightest Highball” over a drawing that shows us a rocket train going on a single-track train line at somewhere over 200 mph. The ad text says Men Who Think of Tomorrow What will the train of the future be like? Will a single rail and airplane designing give it a speed of 200…300 miles per hour? Ask the men who are thinking today about the ‘rocket’ trains of Tomorrow?. The text then says that Seagram’s Foresight – Seagram thought of Tomorrow, the year ‘Monopoly’ was played in a million homes; the year the Townend Plan was announced; The year King George V celebrated his Silver Jubilee. That’s when the rare whiskies for Seagram’s V.O. Canadian were expertly blended and laid away to mellow. Today, as always, we are storing fine whiskies for Tomorrow – so you may always enjoy this glorious Seagram’s V.O. – famed as the whiskey that tastes better – preferred for the world’s lightest highball!”.
