Description

Plymouth Barracuda Ad April 1968Plymouth Barracuda – Full color 7 3/4″ x 10 1/2″ ad that wants you to believe that a Sports Car can also be a functional Family Car too. There is a picture taken from the side of a Light-Colored Barracuda with a young couple leaning on the passenger’s back fender. Behind the car is some luggage and several golf bags and the makers of the ad want you to understand that these items will fit into the car, as well as the people too. The headline claims that “You don’t have to be punished for owning a sports car” and the text talks about sports cars of the past with seats that made a school desk feel comfortable and a trunk that was designed to be there, but not to hold anything. Designers in America began to change this by slightly enlarging the front seat and then Plymouth decided to really tackle the problem by designing the Barracuda. With all of the improvements designed in, the Plymouth Barracuda has become a sports car for people who have grown up.
