Description

Playtex Girdle Ad 1947Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Living Girdle. Pictured at the top of the ad are women wearing this item only assuming three different poses involving some contortion and another picture of a woman standing with arms spread and a sheer robe over her Playtex items. The text, talking about a seamless, non-fabric girdle invention, touts it for women of all ages and talks about how it “lives and breathes with you”. It assures us that this is not a Corset but something much better. There is a coupon on the bottom of the ad showing the different types available, mentions a price of $3.95 and brags that it will be shipped to you “in SLIM silvery tubes”. The coupon mentions that the parent company of this product was the International Latex Corp.
