Philco Ad 1952Black and white 10″ x 14″ ad for the introduction of their Golden Grid Tuner. There is a drawing of the chassis of a Philco television and the headline says this tuner “Makes TV’s greatest ‘Power Plant’ still greater than ever!” and claims that it is “Just like a Boost in Station Power”, something that those of us who remember the early days of television appreciate the importance of. The ad calls this “The First High Fidelity Television ever built for the American Public”, talks about the sensitivity and power and claims that it is “Designed for Built-In All Channel UHF”. Off to the side is a picture of the Philco Model 2287 and the caption talks about some of the features of this and other units and mentions prices from $199.95 to $845.00.
