Description

Pabst Ad June 1947Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2: ad for another of the many times that Pabst beer is called for. There is a picture of a picnic, ergo the headline “Pick o’ the Picnic!”, where a couple has spread out quite a bit of delicious food. The blonde young lady in a red dress is pouring a long-neck bottle of Pabst into a glass while the young man she is with has a chicken leg to his mouth and has turned enough to cast an unhealthy leer in her direction. The headline says Pabst Blue Ribbon ‘It’s Blended…it’s Splendid” and reminds us that it contains “33 Fine Brews blended into one Great Beer”. The ad also tosses in a reminder to “Tune in to David Rose and his music with songs by Georgia Gibbs every Thursday night over NBC”.
