Description
Oldsmobile – Full color 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad that is intended to advertise “The new Hydra-matic Drive. The Drive that shifts for itself”. The ad has a circular picture of a well-dressed lady with both hands on the white steering wheel as she sits beneath her hat with blue and red flowers in it. It then shows a lady, a different one, driving a white two-door Oldsmobile who has stopped to talk to another lady on the side of the road. The ad headline claims that “Women are calling it – The Smart Way to Drive”. It then says that “American women like to be smart…in more ways than one. They like to drive a car that’s smart in appearance, really new and smooth in styling…a car like the new Oldsmobile illustrated above”. The ad then talks about the new HydraMatic Drive and how “Oldsmobile owners everywhere are enthusiastic over this famous “effort-saving” feature which General Motors has perfected”.
