Description

Oldsmobile Ad 1938Oldsmobile – Black and white 10″ x 14″ ad for the Automatic Safety Transmission now being offered on these cars. The ad starts with the headline introducing “The New Driving Sensation!” and has four photos that show a Light-Colored Oldsmobile in action. There is a picture of this car stopped while the male driver is talking proudly to another man who stands outside. The caption for this photo mentions that this transmission is “optional at extra cost on all models of the Oldsmobile Six and Eight for 1938″. Another photo shows the interior of this car with a woman easily driving the car and the headline calls our attention to the fact there is “No gear-shift lever”. Another photo shows this car quickly passing another car using what is called as it’s “Pick-Up Gear”. The last photo shows this car in a low side-view and talks about it’s “Super-Drive”. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.
