Oldsmobile Super “88” Holiday Coupe – Black and white 8 1/4″ x 10 3/4″ ad for the cars that claimed they were “Out a Year Ahead”. When they announced the Super “88” for 1954 they had to say that “the “88” released a full year ahead of schedule”. They claim that it had a “new longer, lovelier, low-level silhouette”and that it was so low that you could “look right over the top”. They also claim that it had “a daring ‘new slant’ in its panoramic windshield”. Wow. They also claim that there is 185 horsepower and the highest compression ratio in their engines history.
