Northwest Orient Ad 1967Full color 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is for Northwest Orient – The Fan-Jet Airline. This ad is for a particular destination that they were flying to, the ad shows a man putting on a green with a course marked out saying “Fly Northwest To Florida”. The big headline in the ad encourages you to “Play it smart” and has four different sections with ways to enjoy yourself. The first way was to “Head For Miami On Northwest and it claims you could “Trade your winter coat for a coat of tan. Fly south by Northwest. We take off for Miami 11 times a day – every day – all winter long. Step aboard in Chicago, Milwaukee or the Twin Cities – step out in sunny Florida. Whenever you’re ready, we are”. Next they suggest that you “Take A Nightcoach” and they claim that if you “Fly Northwest to Florida – by the light of the moon. Our Nightcoach fares are the lowest. Example: from Chicago, just $48.70 to Tampa, $57.10 to Miami – any night of the week”. Next, they ask that you “Fly With Us To Ft. Lauderdale” and, here, they say you could “Find your place in the sun. Stretch out on the beach. Northwest makes it so easy. We’re the only airline that flies to Ft. Lauderdale from the Midwest”. Last they would like you to “Enjoy ‘Regal Imperial’ Service” by enjoying “The nicest service going to sunny Florida! Tempting hors d”oeuvres…full-course dinner. Complimentary cocktails, wines and liqueurs on first class. And for every lady – a free beach bag”.
