Description

Hunt's Ad February 1964Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for Hunt’s Tomato Catsup. This ad has three tomatoes of different size; the smaller one on the left, a larger one in the center and the biggest one on the right. Standing behind the one on the right is the full bottle of Hunt’s Tomato Catsup. In front of each of these tomatoes is a three-word statement. In front of the one on the left it says “For good catsup”. In front of the one in the center it says “For better catsup” and, the one on the right, of course, it says “For Hunt’s catsup”. The text then says that Hunt’s uses the big tomato! About two pounds of fine, fat ones in every 14-ounce bottle. The big tomatoes are ripened on the vine for 40 days and 40 nights and simmered with seven spices. Not six, not four, not two. Seven spices. That’s Hunt’s…the catsup with the big tomato taste”.
