Howard Johnson's Ad 1950Full color 10″ x 14″ ad that says that it is a “Landmark for Hungry Americans”. The ad has a long line of cartoon cars filled with people and scooting across the page, back and forth, ending at a Howard Johnson’s Restaurant at the bottom of the page. All along they have pieces of conversation that people have learned from experience that they hear when the conversation is about Howard Johnson. Topics such as “Keep lookin’ for that orange roof, Dad!” or “Can I have a hot butterscotch walnut sundae, Mom – can I” or “Some day I’m gonna eat all 28 flavors”. We are told that “American’s know a good thing when they see it. That’s why all roads lead to Howard Johnson’s – for food and fun!”.
