Description

Hinds Ad 1942Black and white 5 1/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Honey and Almond Fragrance Hand Cream. During wartime when women were doing many if not most of the factory jobs and good hand cream was very important to these noble women. There is a drawing of a woman in coveralls holding a pipe wrench and saying “My boss says I’ve got as pretty a pair of hands as ever monkeyed a wrench” and she attributes that to her use of Hinds. She claims that this product takes care of the effects of greasy grime and, as a picture at the bottom of the page shows, she is holding hands with her favorite soldier and saying that “He says my hands feel Extra Soft…they’ve got the touch he can’t forget!” The text talks about the healing effect that Honey has on hands that have had to do extra hard work with harsh chemicals.
