Description

Hertz Ad 1957Full color 10″ x 14″ ad for the No. 1 Car Rental Company. There is a picture of an attractive young lady wearing a Hertz cap and uniform and holding up a car key with the hope of enticing you into coming in to rent. The headline says that you can “Drive it as your own! (Get the Hertz idea)” and the text gives you more details. It claims you will be able to drive “a shining, new Powerglide Chevrolet Bel Air or other fine car” and the picture at the bottom of the page shows a man driving a Plum and White 1957 Chevrolet 4-Door down a residential street past a slow-walking postal carrier. The text talks about how simple it is to rent a car from Hertz at the average price of $8.00 per day, with an 8 cent per mile charge, and the different ways you can pay for it. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.
