Description

General Electric Air Conditioner Ad 1954Black and white 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad that asks “Why Swelter?” and suggests that you “Beat the heat with G.E. “Comfort-Conditioned Air”. There are two photographs, one of a woman sitting up in bead with a handkerchief in her hand and the other of, this same woman, fast asleep and the angle of this shot shows an air-conditioner in her room. There are five drawings of how you can spend your time in an air-conditioned home, thanks to General Electric Air Conditioners. The heading on each picture tells how you can live with “Dry, cool comfort”“Clean, healthful comfort”“No-draft comfort”“Automatic comfort” and “Dependable comfort”. In the last picture we see a man in a suit presenting the lady with a check and the headline tells us to “Learn how little it costs to keep dry and cool”.
