Description
Three color 5″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Peppermint flavored Candy Coated Gum with actress Joan Crawford making a pitch for the product. There is a picture of this unusual actress tilting her head and looking at the camera with a very intense and spooky look. The caption mentions that she won the 1949 Academy Award and that she is starring in Humoresque. The text has her giving a Character Quiz which, it is explained, is presented by Fleer’s “in the interest of better understanding among families, friends and nations”. The ad shows a man dropping a piece of gum from the box into his hand and it calls itself “Chewing gum in its nicest form!”.
